Your own wholesaler prices in the quote

Most quoting tools guess the prices. Calco calculates on yours.

A quote is only as accurate as the prices it is built on. If a price is guessed, the margin is guessed too - and that gap lands on your bottom line, not on the paper. Calco lets you calculate on the prices you actually pay at your wholesaler, instead of a rough number found somewhere online.

The problem with guessed prices

01

Most quoting tools, and all the general writing tools people paste their material lists into, price on standard or list prices. Those are prices no tradesperson actually pays. Your real net price at Brødrene Dahl, Ahlsell or Solar sits somewhere else entirely, because it depends on your agreements and your discounts.

When the cost price is wrong, everything built on top of it is wrong too. Your margin becomes an approximation. Sometimes too high, so you lose the job to a cheaper competitor. Sometimes too low, so you win the job and pay to do it. Over a year, all those small deviations add up to real money.

Upload your own net price file

02

Calco lets you load your own net price file - the file you get from your wholesaler with your prices. Calco reads item numbers and cost prices and calculates your margin on top of the figure you actually pay. The quote reflects your reality, not an industry average.

We support files from the major wholesalers, among others:

  • Brødrene Dahl
  • Ahlsell
  • Solar
  • Lemvigh-Müller
  • AO Johansen
  • Bygma
  • STARK
  • and more - Calco calculates on any catalogue

If you do not have the file at hand, Calco can request it from your wholesaler on your behalf, so you avoid chasing it yourself. The upload itself takes a few minutes, and you can swap the file or load an updated version whenever your wholesaler adjusts its prices.

The standard catalogue as a starting point

03

Until your own file is in, Calco falls back on a standard catalogue with around one million item numbers. That way you can get started right away and produce a quote that holds together.

We are honest about what it is: the standard catalogue sits at list-price level. It is a starting point, not your numbers. The full value - protected margin on every line - only arrives once your own net price file is loaded.

Why it protects your margin

04

When Calco calculates margin on your actual cost price, you know the figure at the bottom of the quote holds. You neither price yourself out of the job nor down into a loss. You can give a sharp price with peace of mind, because you know your own floor.

That is the difference between hoping the margin is there and knowing it is. The proof is the numbers the quote is built on: your item numbers, your cost prices, your margin.

Getting started

05

Log in, go to price files and upload your net price file - or ask Calco to fetch it from your wholesaler. From that moment Calco calculates all your quotes on your own prices. You can always update the file when prices change.
