Recalculate: change one number without starting over
A quote is rarely finished on the first pass. The customer wants 12 spots instead of 8, or zinc instead of steel. With Recalculate you simply describe the change - Calco edits the lines it affects and leaves everything else exactly as you made it.
You know the situation: the quote is polished, prices checked, the description reads well. Then the customer calls - "can we add underfloor heating in the bathroom?" Before, that meant either starting over and losing all your edits, or calculating the change by hand and hoping nothing else slipped.
Describe the change - the rest stays put
01Open the quote, choose Recalculate and write what changed: "the customer wants 12 spots instead of 8" or "use zinc gutters instead of steel". Calco finds the lines the change affects - materials, quantities and hours - and edits only those. You see the changes before they apply.
Everything you edited yourself is protected. If you set your own price on a line or rewrote a description, it stands untouched after the recalculation. That is the whole point: your polish is never lost.
Doesn't count against your quota
02A recalculation does not count as a new quote in your subscription. Revise as many times as the job requires - your quota stays put.
And Calco gets smarter every time
03Every time you correct a quote, Calco learns how your company works: which materials you prefer, what lines should be called, how you calculate. Today's corrections show up in tomorrow's draft.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I lose my own edits when I recalculate?
- No. Recalculate only edits the lines the change affects. Lines you adjusted yourself - price, text or quantity - stay untouched.
- Does a recalculation count against my quote allowance?
- No. Recalculations are included in your subscription and do not count as new quotes.
- Can I see what was changed?
- Yes. The affected lines are shown before the change applies, so you always have the final word.
